Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American broadcaster. She works as an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation occasionally. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as a sports reporter. She moved in 2009 to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Covering stories on trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the border, she was a reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English, and a reporter again for news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She covered the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Aside from this, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She worked as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also played the position as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She has an elder sister. She has an older sister. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. Her residence was with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been provided with a job. Still a senior at high school, but with a clear idea what she would like to accomplish for her life, Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. Then, she fell in love with the campus. They also offered her a major. After finishing her high school education, she chose to attend the University with a major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became her friend. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
